Nothing but goodwill in Brazil

Nico Hülkenberg takes a surprise pole position in Brazil

F1 Big Picture: Nico Hulkenberg waits for the moment of truth on the grid ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Nico Hulkenberg waits for the moment of truth on the grid ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Williams driver took a surprise pole position on Saturday, and it was the feel-good moment of the season. Interviews with all the drivers up and down the paddock revealed good feeling for the rookie driver, especially as I think everyone was aware that a win would be somewhat out of the question.

Even thought Hulkenberg finished the race in eighth position, he still remained happy, and proclaimed it a great weekend. The young German is without a race seat for 2011 at the moment, but there are still a couple of options open to him. We will have to wait and see if he gets a chance to repeat the pole position surprise.
